Watermark Denizens “Let the Good Times Roll” while Celebrating Mardi Gras!

The Watermark celebrated Mardi Gras at the end of February with a fully decorated parade of purple, gold, and green residents and associates, five amazing Jazz dancers who got all possible participants up and dancing, a Mardi Gras crowning, beads, Mint Juleps, King Cake, and a delicious New Orleans dinner to end the night. It was a wonderful experience where we “laissez le bon temps rouler!”

Speaking of letting the good times roll, Watermark denizens thoroughly enjoyed exploring New Orleans in the following fun and informative classes featured throughout February: History and Background of New Orleans, New Orleans Kitchen: From Crawfish to Beignets, Louisiana Kitchen: Learning to Make Beignets, The History of Mardi Gras, French Quarter Ghosts and Voodoo of New Orleans, and much more!

Residents also had a chance to share at our “Bourbon Street Meet and Greet” their own experiences in the cosmopolitan city of New Orleans. They all agreed that it deserved its namesake as “America’s Most Interesting City.” In the past they had the chance to experience the old-world charm of the carefully preserved French Quarter, also called the Vieux Carre (Old Square), to dine in its fine restaurants, listen to incomparable jazz, and browse in Royal Street’s fine antique shops. Some even earned beads at the world-famous annual Mardi Gras celebration, where they definitely lived the motto: “laissez le bon temps rouler!”
