Residents were recently treated to a beach day in Santa Monica, at the Annenberg Community Beach House. Lunch was enjoyed at “Back on the Beach Cafe,” which gave us stunning views of the ocean just outside our window. The beach house is open to the public, located on 5 acres of oceanfront property. It’s story is one of evolution from private to public, starting with the development of the property in the 1920s by William Randolph Hearst as an opulent private estate for actress Marion Davies.
After lunch we walked through “The Gallery” at the Beach House, which is currently featuring the exhibition “Playtime” where the fabric of time is the material with which the featured artists work. And, of course, it was another beautiful, sunny day in Southern California!
