Four artists in residence at The Watermark at Beverly Hills were featured at four different art shows this summer as part of The Watermark’s summer spotlight on art. The summer shows featured art by Gladys Preuss, Charlotte Smuckler, Al Hoisman, and Dana Gibson Gannaway.
Each exhibit was well attended by neighbors, family and friends. Favorite selections from each show were later photographed and submitted for consideration in a nationwide competition sponsored by Watermark Retirement Communities. Artists selected from hundreds of submissions will be notified in November if they are featured in Expressions 2015, Watermark Retirement Communities’ award-winning annual calendar celebrating active aging and the arts.
“We gave each artist their own personal art show so that they could enjoy a well-deserved spotlight,” said Jamaal Gulledge, Community Life Director for The Watermark at Beverly Hills, the boutique assisted living and memory care community where the four featured artists reside. “Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate the creativity of these talented resident artists.”
According to Gulledge, residents of The Watermark are looking forward to their next day trip to Huntington Gardens, where Gladys Preuss intends to break out her paint brush and take to the canvas once again.
