Recently, residents gathered to decorate sugar cookies with our very own Pastry Chef CaraMia Dequina (left) and our Dining Room Manager Evelyn Ynsfran (right). The dining services team wanted to interact with residents outside of the dining room and so they coordinated with Community Life to create an activity that will bridge the two departments. The activity began with CaraMia showing residents how to properly frost a cookie. Residents then used both chocolate and vanilla icing, colorful frostings and a variety of sprinkles to decorate the dessert and hand out as gifts to other residents, guests, and family members. Evelyn noted, “We love watching our residents decorate cookies. Mostly, because they approach it with such fervor and joy.” It is safe to say that a sweet time was had by all.
