During the holiday season, it’s easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of attending holiday parties, decorating and finding the perfect gift for friends and family. However, the residents at The Watermark at Beverly Hills thought it would be more significant to think about those less fortunate. Residents truly embraced the season of giving by stuffing socks for the homeless on Skid Row, one of the largest populations of homeless in the United States.
Residents filled warm, winter socks with many essentials homeless people need, but do not have access to such as, toothbrushes, soap, razors and granola bars. Some residents even contributed some of their own items that they thought could be better used by the homeless. While sock stuffing, one resident, Marc H. said, “I love being able to do good deeds any chance I get. My goal, everyday, is to try to make the world a better place, whether it be giving socks to the homeless, or just putting a smile on everyone’s face.”
After all of the winter socks were filled with practical items, they were brought down to the Los Angeles Mission where the socks were distributed, hoping to make a difference for many of the men, women and children.
