Residents enjoyed a 30 minute docent talk that explored the magnificent tapestries of the Eucharist series, which celebrates the glory of the Roman Catholic Church, along with the oil sketches by Peter Paul Rubens that guided their creation. No photos were allowed, but no image could have captured the sheer wonder and awe we all experienced while viewing these magnificent tapestries! And, of course, it was a picture perfect day for Mariellen and Pearl to enjoy the beautiful view of Los Angeles.
The J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center in Los Angeles houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs. Also worth visiting, the Central Garden is an evolving work of art, with tree-lined walkways that lead visitors through extraordinary sights, sounds, and scents.
